If there's any such thing as reincarnation .... I want to come back as a bird of pray. The Ospray that live along the Chesapeake Bay are such graceful birds. I could watch them for hours as they soar and stalk their next fish for lunch.
This pair of Ospray have made home on top of the York River Bridge. And, we're gearing up here in southeast Virginia for the many fishing tournaments. But this one is one-of-a-kind in my book. It's the 10th Annual Flounder Fishing Tournament to support the Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester. Flounder fisherman, waterman and the generic anglers all come together to throw their hooks in the Creative Chameleonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10363248508424419873noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5715383283097737542.post-60953598734349185402012-04-23T19:05:00.001-04:002014-03-03T20:41:20.382-05:00
View from the Jamestown Scotland Ferry. It's worth the trip just to listen to the diesel engines purr and the salty breeze on your face. Don't sit in the car -- you'll miss the best part of the trip.... enjoying the 360' panoramic views from shore to shore of the James River. This particular morning the fog had taken over the bridge and river, creating a stunning affect, causing the York River Bridge appear as if it just falls into the water, with no hint of land in site on the other end.Creative Chameleonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10363248508424419873noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5715383283097737542.post-68829737951284146432011-10-30T17:04:00.005-04:002011-10-30T17:16:18.945-04:00Sunrise on the Ware RiverWe're lucky to be surrounded on three sides by water -- The Chesapeake Bay is home and provides many with jobs, recreation, food and fun. Let me lay this out, there are several peninsula's that enjoy hundreds of miles of shoreline, with expansive views, remarkable wildlife, and the most remarkable sunrises and sunsets. From every vantage point, the view is awesome and shouldn't be taken for Creative Chameleonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10363248508424419873noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5715383283097737542.post-16877673421141975032010-10-22T15:16:00.002-04:002010-10-22T15:28:50.277-04:00Autumn in VirginiaI took a ride down the Colonial Parkway. The trees are starting the change and are beautiful shades of yellows, oranges and reds. The dogwoods are some of the first to change colors. As the state tree, its quite prominant along the parkway and the shoreline of the rivers and tributaries. Looking across the river from the Gloucester side to the Peninsula, you understand how beautiful nature reallyCreative Chameleonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10363248508424419873noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5715383283097737542.post-26601611423967774372010-10-17T13:49:00.002-04:002010-10-17T14:01:17.344-04:00The Chesapeake Bay is in my BloodThe York River and Chesapeake Bay are home because that's where the boat was at. The boat was a gorgeous hand built wooden hull dead rise named "Go-Go". Made for the the shoreline here in Virginia and the tributaries of the Bay, the dead rise drafts very little -- perfect for getting into the shallow waters where the crabs call home.
